Samedan ist der offizielle Flugplatz von St. Moritz in den Schweizer Alpen. Er ist zudem auch der höchstgelegene Flugplatz Europas und bietet dank seiner langen Bahn Platz für Flugzeuge wie Gulfstream V und Boeing Businessjet, auch wenn das Vorfeld etwas begrenzt ist. Aufgrund seiner Lage inmitten eines Tals, welches von hohen Bergen umgeben ist, bietet er einen besonders anspruchsvollen An- und Abflug. Samedan ist ein beliebter VFR Flugplatz. Ausserdem bietet er interessante Instrumentenanflüge, welche zum Teil im Sichtflug geflogen werden müssen.

Wohl am meisten jedoch bietet er sich für den Sichtflug an. ob vom Tessin, der Ost-, oder Zentralschweiz, es erwarten einen in jedem Fall spannende Gebirgsflüge und eine atemberaubende Szenerie.

Beim Flug nach Samedan ist Ortskenntnis das A und O. Es empfiehlt sich ausdrücklich, seinen Flug gut zu planen und auch andere Faktoren wie das Wetter und die Flugzeugleistung nicht ausser Acht zu lassen.

Samedan is the official Airport of St. Moritz in the Swiss Alps. Furthermore, it is the highest-located airport in Europe and its long runway offers capacity for planes as big as a Gulfstream, or even the Boeing Businessjet, although the Apron is limited in its size. Due to its location inmids of the valley, surrounded by high mountains, it allows for a particularly demanding arrival and departure. Samedan is a popular VFR airport. Also, it offers interesting instrument approaches, which in part have to be flown in visual flight.

Maybe most, however, it serves for visual flights. Be it from the Ticino, Eastern oder Central Switzerland, one can expect thrilling mountain flights and breathtaking scenery.

For Flights to Samedan, local knowledge is the A and the O. It is highly recommended to be well prepared in terms of one's flight route and to also consider other factors, such as weather conditions and aircraft performance.
